Privacy policy

Last updated: 12 October 2026

1. Who we are

This policy explains how Dotcom Ventures B.V. handles personal data when you visit this website, use the contact form or email us. We are the controller for that data, which means we decide why and how it is used.

  • Dotcom Ventures B.V., also trading as Wulks
  • Baetserveldsingel 27, 6088 HR Roggel, Netherlands
  • Chamber of Commerce (KvK): 97283371
  • VAT (BTW): NL867984454B01
  • Email: info@dotcom-ventures.com
  • Phone: +31 6 31056459

We have not appointed a data protection officer. For any privacy question, email us at the address above.

2. The short version

  • This website has no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no social media embeds.
  • Pages, fonts, images and scripts are served from our own domain, through our hosting provider and Cloudflare. No other companies' scripts or content are loaded.
  • The site sets no cookies of its own. Our cookie policy explains the one preference we store, and only if you ask for it,. Cloudflare, our security and delivery network, currently sets no cookies; it could only set a security cookie during a security check.
  • If you contact us, we use your details to reply and, where relevant, to work with you. We do not sell your data or use it for marketing lists.

3. What data we process, and why

3.1 Visiting the website

When you open a page, your browser sends technical information to the servers that deliver it. This includes your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and your browser type. Our hosting provider and our security and delivery network (see section 5) record this in server and security logs.

  • Purpose: delivering the website, keeping it secure, and detecting and blocking abuse such as attacks and automated traffic.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, working website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We may look at overall visitor totals in our providers' dashboards (for example, the number of requests per day). These totals come from the same logs. We do not use them to identify or follow individual visitors.

3.2 The contact form

The contact form asks for:

  • your name
  • your company
  • your email address
  • your phone number (optional)
  • the topic of your message (brand partnership, sourcing, quality control or other)
  • your message

Our own script on our web server sends your message by email to info@dotcom-ventures.com. It is not passed to a form service or any other third party. We also send a confirmation email to the address you entered, with the details and the message you sent (a message containing a web link is not repeated), so you know it arrived and can reply to us.

  • Purpose: answering your question and, if you want to work with us, preparing a proposal or agreement.
  • Legal basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Where the message is not about a possible contract, our legitimate interest in answering business enquiries (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

To protect the form from spam we use a hidden field and timing checks. We do not use a captcha, and no data goes to a third-party spam service. To limit how many messages can be sent in a short time, we keep a one-way hashed (pseudonymised) IP address, deleted after 24 hours. These records are stored in a private folder on our web server that cannot be reached from the website. This is based on our legitimate interest in protecting the form and our mailbox from abuse (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3.3 Email and phone

If you email or call us directly, we process your name, contact details and whatever you choose to tell us, for the same purposes and on the same legal bases as the contact form.

3.4 Clients, suppliers and other business contacts

When we work with you or your company, we process the business contact details of the people we deal with, as well as correspondence, orders and invoices. We do this to perform our agreement (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), to meet legal obligations such as bookkeeping and tax rules (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR), and for our legitimate interest in managing business relationships (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We receive these details from the people and companies themselves; we do not obtain personal data from other sources.

3.5 Preferences stored in your browser

If you press "Pause animation", your browser remembers that choice. This stays on your device and is not sent to us. Cloudflare, our security and delivery network, currently sets no cookies; it could only set a security cookie during a security check. See the cookie policy.

4. Where we rely on legitimate interest

Where we use legitimate interest, we have weighed our interests against yours. Our interests are keeping the website secure and available, protecting the contact form from spam, answering business enquiries, and managing business relationships. We keep the data to a minimum. You can object at any time (see section 8).

5. Who receives your data

We do not sell personal data or share it for others' marketing. We use these service providers (processors). They may only process data on our instructions:

ProviderWhat they do for usData involved
Hostinger International Ltd. (Cyprus)Website hosting, the contact form script, and email hosting for info@dotcom-ventures.comServer logs (including IP addresses), contact form messages, emails

We have processing agreements with both providers.

Our accountant receives our invoices to and from business partners and platforms, which may contain business contact details. We may also share data with legal advisers or authorities where the law requires it or where it is needed to establish or defend legal claims.

6. Data outside the European Economic Area

Hostinger stores our website and mailbox in Germany (Frankfurt), with backups in France. Both are within the European Economic Area.

Cloudflare is a US company that runs a worldwide network. Depending on where you are and how traffic is routed, your IP address and request details may be processed outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards in Cloudflare's data processing terms. Cloudflare also participates in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

7. How long we keep data

We keep personal data no longer than we need it. Our proposed periods are below.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • see the personal data we hold about you (access)
  • have incorrect data corrected (rectification)
  • have your data deleted (erasure)
  • have the use of your data limited (restriction)
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest (objection)
  • receive data you gave us in a common, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another organisation (portability)

We do not currently rely on consent for any processing. If we ever do, you can withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting what happened before.

To use any of these rights, email info@dotcom-ventures.com. We may ask you to confirm your identity. We will reply within one month. The law allows this to be extended in complex cases, and we will tell you if that happens.

9. The right to complain

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In the Netherlands this is the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl. If you live or work in another EU country, you can also complain to the authority there.

10. Do you have to give us your data?

No. You can browse the website without giving us any details. Your browser does send technical data such as your IP address, because the website cannot be delivered without it. To reply to the contact form we need your name, company, email address, topic and message. Your phone number is optional. If you would rather not use the form, you can email or call us instead. If we enter into an agreement with you, we need certain details to perform it and to meet our legal obligations.

11. Automated decisions

We do not make decisions about you based only on automated processing, and we do not use profiling.

12. Security

The website is served only over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Contact form messages are sent through authenticated email. Access to our mailbox and hosting accounts is limited to the people who need it. Two-factor authentication is switched on for our hosting and Cloudflare accounts.

13. Other websites

This website links to wulks.com, which Dotcom Ventures B.V. runs under the trade name Wulks. When you shop or use an account on wulks.com, the privacy policy published on wulks.com applies.

14. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our website or the way we handle data changes, for example if we ever add analytics. The date at the top shows the latest version.
